3. Day-wise itineraries with Hotel/Resort Names shall be forwarded to the Tourists only on confirmation of the tour.

4. All Hotels/ Resorts in the said tour plan are Non Ac deluxe family hotels/resorts. For Ac Hotels/Resorts, extra charges will be applied as per tour plan.

5. The packages are based on MAP plan i.e. Breakfast and Dinner Plan.

6. Non Ac Vehicle with driver can be provided from Mumbai from the residence of the Tourist. Pune vehicle available from Kothrud.

7. Sightseeing shall be strictly as per itinerary.

8. Changes in the itinerary due emergency circumstances like road blocks, heavy downpour, emergencies, political unrest, etc shall be made only by Girijatmaj Tours.
9. Rates subject to change without prior notice.

TERMS & CONDITIONS  :

• Any damages caused to the hotel rooms/coach during your stay, shall be payable by the passengers. Girijatmaj Tours will not be liable for the same.
• The Company shall not accept any liability or responsibility for any damages, loss, injury, accident, death, delay, breakdown or irregularity which may occur in carrying out of the tour arrangement.
• Management reserves the right to claim any additional expenses due to delay or changes in train, plane, bus, ship or other services, weather conditions, strikes, war, quarantine and any other cause whatsoever and all such loss or expenses must be borne by the passengers.
• For the convenience of our passengers, we will sometimes amend the itinerary, however all the other services will remain the same.
• Meals are pre-set and a choice of menu is not available. Except if informed earlier (eg: Jain menu,etc).
• Cost of excursions, city sightseeing, entrance fees and local guides availed of by the passenger other than those included in the ‘What your Tour Price Includes’ box are to be paid for extra.
• We shall welcome all the complaints from your end in written within 7 days of completion of your tour, any complaints received after that shall not be entertained.

Tour Schedule:

31st July'10: Depart at 10.30pm from Dadar. Overnight Journey.

01st August'10: Early morning reach the foothills of the Fort. Start Trek. (2.5Hrs). Guided Tour of the Fort. Post lunch back to Mumbai.

Trek Level: Easy/Beginners

Tour Cost Includes: Transport to and from Mumbai, Breakfast and Tea, Lunch, Guide charges

FORT RAIGAD 
Tour Information For Tourists

Introduction : Fort Raigad popularly known as the "Gibraltar of the East" is the Capital Fort of Chhatrapati Shivajiraje Bhosale. Earlier known as Rairi, Tanas, Rasivata, Nandadeep, it was named "Raigad" by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The fort was under construction for 14 long years under the able guidance of Hiraji Indalkar - the architect of this fort. Approx 300 buildings were built during that time, today we can see the ruins of the same.

Shivaji Raja was coronated as "Chhatrapati" on the very fort on 06th June 1674 (Jyestha Shuddha Trayodashi) and even today we celebrate the coronation ceremony with great pomp and show on the Fort. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj died on the same fort in 1680.

The Fort was destroyed by the English in 1818 and today we see the ruins of the Fort. 

What to See on the Fort?? Hirkani Buruj, Mena Darwaja, Rani Mahal, Sachivalay, Palkhi Darwaja, Raj Mahal, Sadar(Diwane Khas), Raj Darbar, Kushawarta, Holicha Maal, Shirkai, Hati Talav, Bajar Peth, Takmak Tok, Jagdishwar Mandir, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Samadhi, Bhavani Tok, Daru Kothar.

Why should you visit the Fort?? It is not for picnic or a source of timepass. The Fort should be visited only by those who have a quest to learn something from it. The Fort is a living example which in itself speaks about the great king, the history, architecture and also gives an amazing view of the Sahyadri Ranges.. Nature lovers, photographers, trekkers, MBA students, school students, college students, knowledge seekers should visit the Fort.

ALCOHOL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON THE FORT AND ANYONE FOUND WITH THE SAME SHALL BE PUNISHED STRONGLY.

Where to Stay?? Decent accommodation is available on the Fort at Jog or MTDC. For Zilla Parishad accommodation, you have to contact the Mahaad Office for the same. So also, trekkers can stay at Bapu or Shinde Maushi's house.
